Sameer Nagda, MD

Dr. Sameer Nagda, is a shoulder, elbow, and knee specialist at the Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Arlington, VA. He evaluates and surgically treats problems of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. In addition to his clinical practice, he is team physician for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team and was part of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion Team in 2019. He also travelled with the team to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. He has also been a physician in the Washington Nationals organization for 8 years. He is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Dr. Nagda has won several awards for his research and published numerous research papers. He has received the prestigious Neer Award from the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. This is the highest award given in the field of shoulder surgery. He has also received multiple awards from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Eastern Orthopaedic Society for his research. Dr. Nagda has also served as the Editor–in- Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Journal and is reviewer of prospective research papers for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He is also on the Program Committee for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.

Dr Nagda

Dr. Nagda received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles. He completed his medical education at the Chicago Medical School. There he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and was given the Dean’s Award for achievement and performance. Dr. Nagda completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. There he was selected as the academic chief resident and given the DeForest Willard Award as the most outstanding senior orthopaedic resident. He then pursued specialized training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the world-renowned Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
